Can't Shut Down

I've tried shutting down to no avail. Followed advice listed in FAQ. Cannot use FSCK advice for when holding down apple S key, computer does not boot. When trying to use Diskwarrior, the disk is rejected. When trying to install (reinstall--overwrite previous version) )with external Panther it says I cannot for earlier version has NOT been installed when in fact it has been. When I try to install earlier version of System X it says that it is impossible for a later version exists.

Sounds like I have a big problem.
