Just to let you guys know that if you're willing to cause yourselves potential warranty issues then the upgrade from Apple reflashed DVD-117D to the original Pioneer DVD-108AA 1.14 works fine as far as I've tested. I also chose to use Patchburn to enable all the iApps and again this is fine, as is sleep and fan speed. Much faster DVD-R burning and of course the +R Double-Layer disks now work a treat (Toasted 'The Life Aquatic' onto one last night and it worked great)

I got the rom up/downgrade from;

http://pioneerdvd.rpc1.org/DVR-108%2...+%20nx4all.zip

I got DVRFlash for Mac from;

http://homepage.mac.com/asaxton/FlashIt_Kit_2.0.zip

I put them all in one folder and ran this from a terminal (I SU'd in but you might not have to do this);

./DVRFlash -f PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-108 R8100008.114 R8100108.114

I then rebooted.

I got Patchburn 3 from; http://www.patchburn.de/ installed and rebooted again and all was well.

'hope this helps.
