Dragging Folder to Save Dialogue Window

I can't remember if OS 9 or earlier did this, and I haven't seen it mentioned in any talk about X though it may be old news. But:



If you have a Save dialogue window open and drag a folder from the Finder to it, the current directory for saving switches to it. Dragging a file changes the directory to the folder containing the dragged file, and the name changes to the file name.

IIRC, Navigation Service-savvy apps in OS 9 allowed the dragging a folder trick, but never the ability to click and "grab" a file name.



I had been campaigning for the latter for years before it finally, finally, finally arrived in Panther. My reaction wasn't so much delight as relief.
