that SHOULD work ... the hotel network would only see the AE as a client ... the AE could then have as many computers as it can support using that single subscription to the Hotel network.
The AE would just need to be set up for DHCP, and make sure that it uses NAT for handing out its own IP adresses. Whoever logs on to the internet "first" each day (most hotels give a lease that expires at noon the next day or similiar) would have to supply the access code on the pop-up web page.

I have used 2 AE at home without problems. Perhaps the hotel only allows one mac address per room.
