just an interesting editorial that I stumbled across. Any thoughts on this out there in insiderdom? Would Apple be better served if some of the more vocal Apple fans kept their more colorfull comments to themselves?

Apple fans bearing on the success/failure of the company has about the relevance of a gnat on a hippo's butt.

Journalists love to write slanted Mac articles because no journalist wants to write an article that elicits nary a response. They need the Mac Fanatics more than the Mac Fanatics need them.

Yup. Call it the Dvorak Equation: controversy = pageviews = revenue.

I do wish that more Mac partisans were less thin-skinned, but blaming them for slowing Apple's growth is... just a way to incite controversy, to get more pageviews, to get more ad revenue.
