Guys n' Gals, this is my first time with a Mac so please play nice.

I'm online now with my PC, but am trying to hook up the G4 PowerMac that I picked up today. I'm online via a cable modem. I have the cable modem linked to a router and then have one cable running to my PC and another running to my Mac. The PC works and is running but the Mac will not connect to the Internet. It's OS9.1 and Internet Explorer 5. I'd like to get online so I can update to 9.2 and then install OSX tonight. Any help? Thanks!

Looking at the router, the port I have the ethernet cable plugged in to from the Mac is not 'lit' (whereas the PC port is, obviously). I'm not familiar with OS9. Is there a network setup area or any place I can change settings for my ethernet connection?

Nevermind. Just went ahead and installed OSX and I'm online...

If you would have gone to Apple Menu--Control Panel--TCP/IP. The Ethernet port probably was not selected.
