15 or 17??

I am buying one tomorrow I think and want the 17 but am worried about it being a bit TOO big while traveling. On your lap on the couch or on a desk I'd be crazy not to go with the 17 but is it a pain to bring places around town or in an airplane seat? Whichever one I get I will load it completely. What do you all think? Can anyone with 17's possibly let me know how they feel about traveling with theirs? Thanks!
