Omg, why in the hell did Apple not include a Superdrive on the mid range PowerMac? Is this something different, I could have sworn that the old mid range PowerMac had a Superdrive included?

I am mystified.

You can not get a Superdrive in a PowerMac for less than $1,700...but thats in a "PowerMac" without a dual processor. Hmmm!

You can not get a Superdrive in the mid range model for less than $2,500.

What the hell are you talking about?

It's an option in all of them.

Well, I'm thinking of getting a SuperDrive add-on or not. Then I heard then Toast Ti v5.2 doesn't support the SuperDrive, is it true?

I thnk he's referring to the fact that it's not part of the standard config... not that it isn't an option.

Yeah, I was shocked too. I bought the DP 1Ghz a few months ago. When I first saw the price, I thought wow! $500 price drop!

Then I noticed the missing Superdrive...

The price drop on the displays are much more impressive. The new low range (single 1gigger) and the DP 1.25Ghz are odd. Seems like they missed the sweet spot.

Toast Titanium 5.2 does support the superdrive. Even better: Toast Titanium adds support for DVD-RW to the superdrive, which is currently not supported by disc burner.
