M-Audio Audiophile USB high frequency whistle

Hi All,



I'm using an M-Audio Audiophile USB interface as such:



G5 tower -> USB -> M-Audio -> S/PDIF -> Outboard DAC



The sound quality is simply incredible. However, I'm getting a high frequency whistle in the output. I've tried messing around in the control panel (disbled all unecessary inputs and outputs, played with bit depth, etc.) to no avail.



Anyone have some insight into what's going on?

    i've heard some random reports of audio devices picking up a pitch from the computer's hard drive. probably not the case, but something to consider. i have no idea how you would fix it.
