AppleCare on eBay??

someone on eBay UK is selling AppleCare extended warranties. As they are a lot less than Apple's usual price I am tempted but it seems odd to be able to just "buy" this kind of package from an on-line auction. Do they really sell them off the shelf like this, and can I be sure that Apple UK will accept them as valid?
