Our new Mac Lab!
If you were in here a few months ago you might have noticed my Distress call to Mac using professionals. Well, the short version is that we got the cash for a new Multimedia Lab equipped as we saw fit. Here's the story in pictures:
Here's our old lab. Not too shabby huh?

Well that was only the first row. The rest of the lab looked like this.

Oh yeah, most students were seriously kickin' it old school.

And of course, at this age they each have their own little quirks.

Then one day the magical little GMC came with a special delivery, 27 iMacs!
(in 2 magical trips from Central Receiving)

While helping to unload them, I had to take a minute for a picture.

Here's one for all you SpecWhores (and anyone else who's interested.)

And now, the architect of our forth-coming computing bliss, our TV engineer Will. You can tell he's an engineer because it says so on his hat. He made me take this picture quickly because he couldn't keep his weight off the box under him for long.

I've hit the limit of images in a single post... stand by for the next exciting episode.

It's like Christmas morning... woohoo!
Now that looks much better.
Very pretty.
Then I updated the "problems" board to reflect our new situation.
Doug can't resist the allure of new hardware.
The iMacs are tired now and must rest before the students start swarming in on Monday.
Once again, thanks to everyone who wrote culture "cards" on our behalf. Me, and everyone who's to use this lab, are eternally grateful.

I would give the left nut of every other guy on this forum to be able to give my kids just one of those machines!
Better get permition and a gun before you go nut clipping on others...

I was wondering if you have and DOA units or any problems? 27 iMacs- I'm sure something is wrong with one of them?

No- I'm just thinking about the consumer reports thing- didn't they say like 2 out of every 10 had a defect?
The eMacs and iMacs are being distributed to places in need throughout the building. We didn't have a monopoly on ancient beige machines down there, just the largest population.

EEP... so, if I ever see 8 guys walking out of a store, I know I should wait for a while before I buy something...
