I want to give my iPod mini to my daughter, and it has my name and phone number engraved. What is the best (most attractive, easiest) way to change the engraving?

Try taking it to a local jeweler or watch repair place. I haven't done this myself so I'm just throwing the idea out, but I'm sure they could come up a design to cover your info and then add your daughter's.
Think of it like an old sailor's tattoo: You've got 'Marge' across your bicep but your new girl Edna isn't too keen on it so you draw a big ol' heart over Marge and put 'Edna' right next to it, just like it was always meant to be that way.

Already did that (twice), they won't let us change her name anymore until she turns 18...
I gave her the option of my iPod mini with the engraving or a new iPod shuffle 1G. My artistic skills stoped developing at age 4 or so, and she is a talented artist - anything she did would be better than anything I did, wrt the engraving.
Well, it isnt actually engraved, it is embossed. It will scrape off. Anyone who has an older mini and has carried it in a pocket without a skin on it knows how easily the writing on the back begins to scratch and fade. I would suggest a really light grade wet sandpaper. Make sure you seal the ends of the pod and the face before you try this though.
