new powerbooks

proud owner of a new powerbook g4 1.5ghz
As anyone else noticed this?
open a terminal and type hostinfo,
the readout says the cpu type is powerpc 7450....
i was expecting it to say 7447A (or
anyone able to explain?

It simply means our cpu type is a "Power PC 7450".

Yes but, Freescale does not like a 7450. Unless i am missing something. Just would like to read up on the hardware....a bit geeky i know

If your new 1.5GHz Prbk is a 12-inch with SuperDrive, would you please tell me which OS version/build number it has?

The 1.33Mhz model also says;
Processor type: ppc7450 (PowerPC 7450)
