hi all,

a little bird told me the educational discount price for logic pro 7 is about $500, ie about FIFTY PER CENT of the full retail price. can this miracle be true? if so it's a deal AND A HALF, the sale of the century and worringly tempting for my much abused visa card.

can't find a discount price on the apple website, can anyone help me find this?

also, could anyone remind me of the yearly edu discount allowances? already bought a new pb on discount.

The Logic Pro 7 edu price is "almost" as good as the edu $500 Production Suite Bundle. There's a link you click and it'll ask you for your school information. After that you should see the edu pricing.

ordered this last night for \\67400. that's about 640 USD, or 335 pounds, less than HALF of the uk full price.

    whoop!

    Great for you guys.

But for non-educational people there's NO upgrade pricing if you have a license older than version 5. I have version 4.x, so I have to cough up the FULL price (in Europe, that is). No upgrade pricing. After spending twice the price already with several updates.

C'mon Apple, I could even upgrade from Photoshop 3 to Creative *Suite* for only $500 !

i'm a teacher, but only semi "in the system", so i used a letter from my school as proof of status.

but i teach junior high kids all day, so i deserve it, dammit!

a great price; it's less than half of the equivalent UK price.

do they verify your ID with the school to make sure that you are valid? also... can i just have my school write a letter like someone else said. i am going to go to a college preparatory school so i will more than likely NEED the laptop i want. will a letter matter if i am in a high school?

i would've thought if you appear to be of high-school age, id would hardly be necessary!!

but i don't actually know. a letter served fine for me.

They just ask for your school ID and then, if they want, they ask for State ID just to see if the names match.

I don't know about high-school, but you can always ask them before hand.
