if you're having problems you'll need to delete some stuff as well. Go to 'area'>library>preferences>com.apple.itunes.plist anddelete that file
also go to HardDisk>Library>iTunes and make sure there are no scripts installed that could be causing a problem.

download it and drag it to your Applications folder.
