Good Divx/Xvid Player for Mac ??

in Genius Bar edited January 2014
Hi there, i have iBook g4 933mhz 256mb ram and some *ahem* hdtv sourced Divx and Xvid files don't play so well through QuickTime player, i downloaded the official codecs for Quicktime from Divx and Xvid sites....

So.... me question is given my computer specs, any other players i could try? frame rates get a bit cludgy at the moment on fast moving scenes like chase sequences and stuff like that

thanks for your help

seriously, awesome stuff. especially when you set ffmpeg to 'hurry up' on the decoding... quicktime player is slightly prettier but VLC is Smooooooth

Not that I am recommending it over VLC, but MPlayer is also a decent product. I use it a lot on the linux side.
