Now, where do I buy 12" Powerbook memory?
So I want me a 12" Powerbook, but for various reasons I'd prefer not to buy it online and do the BTO thing. However, the stores here only have the base spec (yeah, like 256MB is going to cut it!), so I'm looking at the aftermarket.
Can I find the stuff? Can I heck.
Anyone got a lead?

Possibly this should have been in General Discussion, but, hey!
<strong>Thanks guys: hmm, for once the Apple Store is ever so slightly cheaper than anyone else!

Are you sure about that? I checked when I got my 12" last week and it was about $40 more than some other places. I got mine for Data Memory Systems. They had a 512 stick for $153 with $8 for fedex 2 day. Not bad. It works fine.

Apple is cheaper in the sense that you can build a machine with 640MB by adding $150 to the base config. Technically you are only getting an additional 384mb since you don't get the 128MB that comes standard with the store-bought machines, but it's not like you're going to be able to sell that for anything anyway.

That's true. I ws kicking myself for it. But I got my mini a lot earlier than I would have otherwise. And it was only $11. For third party, data memory systems was the best balance of price and low shipping I found.

I would say you should be very carefull with that, since some people reported that memory with exactly the same specifications in paper did not worked in their 12" powerbook. The memory has been checked and it turned out that it was not bad. Not sure what happens here, just be carefull.
