Install Superdrive later on iMac?

I have an older FP iMac w/combo drive.



I'm wondering if it's possible to purchase a Superdrive from the same OEM as Apple and install it?

Then I all I need is get iLife and I'm set to burn a DVD's. Is this possible or recommended?
