Suggestions for upgrade iMac dv 400 airport

wish to upgrade my iMac and use it for photos would like to try burning dvd (transfer wedding video, and dv camcorder stuff) and as my airport basestation. My next hardware purchase will be laptop later in the year.



Harddrive--what size and how much$$$

4x superdrive--internal upgrade is this possible?

ram--presently have 192 (64+128)how much do i need



how much$$$ do you think it will take.



is this worthwhile and what are your suggestions?

    Hmm upgrade to 512 in RAM.



    Hard drives are cheap- i just bought a 40 gig for 50 bucks. I would go for an 80 gig.



    Internal superdrive.... I would suggest you get an external firwire one. Will serve you better in the future. So when you get a new machine you can use it with that machines firwire ports or sell it if the new machine has a superdrive built in.

    for $1299 you can get a new eMac with a bigger screen, superdrive, and bigger HD...

    You're looking at $350 for a Pioneer DVR-A05, $70 for a 512 chip, and $100 for an 80GB drive.



    Is it worthwhile? You're $600 in the hole and still on a G3 400. No.
