G4noise.com is one of the most poorly designed website I have ever seen. Never, Never use orange text. It is very hard to read. The website gives me just as bad a head ache as hearing a MDD Power Mac.

Actually, my <a href="http://www.7hills.org/pub/common_canvass/"; target="_blank">student paper</a> just got a new MDD dual 867 and it is a little noisy but not that bad. (It is in a big room though).

If people have known about this "problem" for 5 months and yet they kept buying MDD Power Macs they have little to complain about. (the people who bought them initially do have a legitament claim)

If you want high speed/heat chips you have to live with more noise. Otherwise use a Cube or the old G3 iMac.

OK... fair enough. But then you say:

    Make up your mind.

It's loud. It's not loud. Well it's loud but not in a big loud place. Maybe if you thought of what you were going to write before you started typing?

Maybe you slept in on Jan 28... uh, there are new PowerMacs that are MUCH quieter. You do NOT have to live with the noise.

Apple has managed to make these new machines quiet AND FASTER, and are leaving the old MDD owners out in the cold. Simple as that.

I own a MDD and mine is not loud.

Why not do the $20 fan replacement and move on with life?

Or wait, I know, create a website get people to sign it and then maybe hire a lawyer and take Apple to court in a class-action lawsuit and when you win you'll be given the option to recieve a 20% discount on your choice of a mouse, keyboard, or ilife.

I demand Apple give me a newer machine!! Damn them for making better computers than mine!!

I own a MDD and don't have a problem with the noise. Although it is a touch on the loud side, but if it is that much of a problem you could always get a custom fan?!

Not new machines. Just fix the old ones.

I just find it funny that they say they have "listened" to the major complaints of their audio pros (the ****ing loud towers)... and fixed the problem. But if you're sitting there with a loud tower, you're ****ed.

They fixed the new ones, but can't fix the old ones.

YOU can swap the PS fans yourself. Also, Im sure some Apple Authorized service center would do it for you, of course you will have to pay since the computer IS NOT DEFECTIVE.
