Graphic cards for new Dual G4's

I am going to order a new system soon and am trying to decide which card to get through Apple's BTO. I will be getting the 20" ACD to go with the 1.25 GHZ dual. I will be using it for mostly Photoshop, but some video editing, and of course gaming.

Is the Radeon 9000 pro adequate?

Or, Should I wait and get the Radeon 9700 for $300 extra? (I can wait the extra 3 weeks and spend the extra cash for a much better product)

Or, should I spend the extra $300 and get the Nvidia GeForce4 Titanium?

Thanks!

Well when ever I get a new computer I get the best I can of everything so that way my computer takes longer to become obsolete. I would look at the features of the 9700 and the ti and see witch you like better and of course witch one is better. I personally like the ati 9700.

Don't buy a GeForce4 Ti if the Radeon 9700 Pro costs the same amount. You'd be cheating yourself. The 9700 Pro is 40-50% faster than the GeForce4 Ti. Go for it if it doesn't cost any extra.

Of course, the Radeon 9000 Pro would also be a good card. If you don't plan on playing any games, I'd go with that. If you're interested in something like Doom 3, no question, get the 9700 Pro.

okay you've convinced me - I will wait for the 9700. Despite having an Xbox I am sure I will be doing my fair share of gaming on my G4 too. Doom 3 is a sure thing for me....

    Thanks for the replies!

I was gonna say the 9000 is fine, but honestly, if I had the option for the 9700 when I ordered my Dual Gig, I would definitley go for it. Enjoy!!!

Is it just me? I the question (and even the replies) in this thread are very similar to the one in MacNN <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

You caught me... I am ordering this today so i wanted to post ina couple of different places for some different opinions. Although I don't think the replies are by the same people, it does show a consensus for me to wait for the 9700 - which is what I am going to do. BTW, I also posted in the Apple Discussions forum
