creating a 'Random Play' smart playlist???

hey all,

i have an iPod Mini, and i'd like to set up an itunes playlist that will randomly pick say 25 songs and then i can load it to my iPod.

At the moment i can do this, but if i want to get another 25 random songs i have to 'edit' the playlist. Is there some way i can set it up so that it will automatically pick 25 new songs everytime i open it?

thank you

    i know that can be accomplished with applescripting, but i dont have the time or energy to write a script. check 'doug's applescripts for itunes.'

    Hey there everyone,

    Does anyone know the name of the specific AppleScript that accomplishes what spiers69 was trying to do? I am sort of in the same boat and I couldn't find the AppleScript on Doug's page.

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

    I looked around the site but I can't find the bundle of scripts you're speaking of. Would you mind doing me a favour and checking iTunes to see which script in particular it is that you're using? I would very much appreciate it.

    Thanks!

    Alternatively, you can make a smarty playlist with a max # of songs that has live updating on it. If you want a set of fresh tunes, just delete them from the playlist and iTunes will repopulate it.

    I did just this with criteria like:

    * Rating 3+

    * Not in other iPod playlists

    * Genre not Holiday, AudioBook, Sample, etc.
