creating a 'Random Play' smart playlist???
hey all,
i have an iPod Mini, and i'd like to set up an itunes playlist that will randomly pick say 25 songs and then i can load it to my iPod.
At the moment i can do this, but if i want to get another 25 random songs i have to 'edit' the playlist. Is there some way i can set it up so that it will automatically pick 25 new songs everytime i open it?
thank you

and there are scripts for doing this (only for Macs though)
that apple script does the trick
Does anyone know the name of the specific AppleScript that accomplishes what spiers69 was trying to do? I am sort of in the same boat and I couldn't find the AppleScript on Doug's page.
Thanks!

it's there. i think it may be one download that is a couple of scripts. And it's one of them.
Hi there,
I looked around the site but I can't find the bundle of scripts you're speaking of. Would you mind doing me a favour and checking iTunes to see which script in particular it is that you're using? I would very much appreciate it.
Thanks!

sure. the script is called 'Block Party!'. I hope that helps
Perfect! Thanks!
I did just this with criteria like:
* Rating 3+
* Not in other iPod playlists
* Genre not Holiday, AudioBook, Sample, etc.
