I am using OSXvnc on my mother's computer 350 miles away. And it is acceptable but at similar distances Windows servers perform much better.

What do you guys use?

I use OSXvnc and turn the colour down to 256.

My windows machines are just as slow.

On a Mac I use Chicken of the VNC to access UNIX from home. However, it's performance pales in comparison to GraphOn's GoGlobal for a PC. I contacted them about a port to OSX - but they see no $ in the effort.
