Best tests for speed, noise, pixels . . . ?
After many months of research on this boards, I'm getting ready to apply the wisdom and insight so generously offered here to actually buying a Mac!
I'll be visiting an Apple Reseller this weekend and I'd like to know if you can recommend any casual in-store tests that can give me an idea of relative speed among the 1Ghz iMac, MDD Dual 1.25, and the PB867. Normally I'd do a few high-res Photoshop tests, but it's unlikely it will be loaded on the store machines.
Also, what might kick in the afterburners on the PM?
Finally, what's the best way to find dead pixels on a flat panel??
