Post Production Sound - Hardware & Software?

Hi all.

I have recently produced a feature film, shot on High Definition.

I am now taking on the duties of attempting sound edit on the post production.

What hardware &/or software do you guys recommend not breaking the £3,000/$4,500 mark.

Protools LE/Logic Pro 7/Nuendo/etc?

Which of these offers 5.1 surround for your mix?

What hardware? Speakers?

Any information you guys have would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Tom

I use Logic for music and it's an amazing piece of software, but I've never tried my hand at any video work so I've no idea how it fares. (Anyone know if Logic Pro 7 plays extra nice with FCP?) From what I understand, Nuendo is the current DAW of choice for sound editing for video on a reasonable budget (as opposed to on a Pro Tools|HD rig).

There are sure to be a couple of knowledgeable posters on here, but you might get a faster response if you check the soundonsound.com boards.
