Backing up HD

For tiger i want to do a fresh install onto my powerbook. I have an older g3 b&w with a 6 gig and a 20 gig. how would i go about backing up my powerbook hd to my g3 or would it be easier to just do it onto dvd. What i am trying to say would it be easier to use the setup assistant and move my user account to my g3 and then reformat and install tiger and reimport off the g3 to my powerbook. Thanks in advance...

    If you just want to archive data then plug a network cable between the 2 and copy the data from one drive to the other.

    I doubt the reimport of the accounts is that smooth.

    You could always copy your account and if the reimport didn't work then copy the data itself over manually.
