Optical Mouse Power Question.

Simple but odd question--how much power do optical mice use compared to rollerball mice? Does it impace laptop battery life in a measurable way? Are some mice more "energy-efficient" than others.



I know it probably isn't a burning issue for anyone, but I'm curious is anyone knows.

    I wouldn't think they would detract from a battery's life that much. I still get 3:45 on an old clamshell running OS 10.2.4 with a MX 500 plugged in.
