serial port and hyperterminal
I would love to know if anyone out there has overcome the problem of connecting to serial ports on PC boxes. For instance, I have some machines which are headless, and the only way I can connect to them is through a PC serial port with hyperterminal in Windows.
Sometimes I connect DB9 to DB9, and sometimes I connect DB9 to rj11. If I could hijack my modem port to do rj11 to rj11 or rj11 to db9, that would be really cool.
Or, if there is another good option, I am open ears. I do have a USB to DB9 cable which I could use, but I don't really see that connecting as a device, but I may be missing something.

I use it to connect to Cisco switches/routers, Sun, HP and AIX servers.
