    My first gen iPod's battery is now over 3 years old and still works fine (though the hard disk died a few months ago when it flew into someone's yard in a car accident).



    I've heard that they've only gotten better with time, but my new one's not old enough to tell yet.



    And they are replaceable if you're fine voiding your warranty



    If they wanted to bad mouth the iPod, they should talk about how easy they scratch, that's my only complaint.
