Network backup
I am absolutely fed up with Retrospect.
I have about 20 users I back up on a weekly or daily basis (depending on how vital these users are). I have a Dual533 G4 with some godforsaken Lacie tape drive.
Here's what kills me; it's the whole damned hard drive of every single user. Is it truly arcane magic to allow me to simply choose a couple of folders from each user and thereby saved dozens and dozens of GB? Past that, can I couple that with incremental backup?
Incremental works, yeah, but you're still backing up their entire goddam hard drive.
I want their Users folder, that's it. Their vital documents and e-mail, nothing more. But no. If I want that I have to learn how to use rsync and all that crap.
FIE!
