iPod into new iTunes Library

Sorry if this has been posted before...

I had to get a new hard drive recently. As a result my iTunes etc. was lost. I have an iPod which contains much of the music on my old iTunes.

I want to transfer the iPod music back into iTunes but I'm a little skittish.

The prompt states the following "your iPod is linked to another iTunes library. Do you want to change the link to this iTunes library and replace all existing songs and playlists on this iPod with those from this libaray."

I definitely do not want to replace 700+ songs on my iPod with the 10 songs on my new iTunes library and, in essence, lose the 700 songs.

Any help would be appreciated and in as simple terms as possible!

Thanx

Mr. X

Apple has blocked music from being copied from the iPod back on to the computer. It is basically a copy protection for the songs. I have never used this myself, but I have heard of a program called XPlay which is supposed to be able to copy songs back onto the computer: "Backup your music ... XPlay enables you to copy your music from your iPod to your PC."
