hey you designer types. show your creativity and post some samples of your recent work here. just finished up a website? post a link. want to show off that new brochure that you slaved over? show us your shit.
cool. did you start with a sketch that was scanned in, or did you do it all in photoshop? how long have you been working on it?
Well [cough], I actually started it about a year ago and then I sort of abandoned it until a month or so ago, where I've kind of been doing little tid-bits every now and then.
It's all done in Photoshop. Basically I start by making a basic outline from the reference (photo,) and then fill that in with color. I have a Wacom pad that I used, but it's really only a hobby, I am not like a graphic designer or what not.
Keep in mind it was several years ago.. I jsut looked at it in firefox and it takes a little while to display properly. Back in the day we programmed it for IE and Netscape only. ::shrugs:: no idea how it will looks now...
thanks flick. That was fun to do. i might have to have another kid just to do another one.
Here's a link to our site that i've been working on for... well, for ever it seems. i don't know how many versions we ultimately designed before this one was finally given the green light over the course of the last 4 years. our last site was created almost 7 years ago. That's 3 years before i came on board. this was the cause of much contention between us and the man, to say the least. pretty sad really. still working out some IE browser issues, but it's pretty close. best viewed in safari right now, although firefox is not far behind as we put on the final touches.
for the season we here at filament are offering our style of christmas cheer.. well since you can't get rum and eggnog over the net its the next best thing.
Looking back on the "Macintosh 2" mock-up that I did (this is just before the mac mini was released) and the specs and price, I pretty much nailed the specs for the original mac mini- sans the 64MB graphics card.

This is something I have been have been sort of working on. Although I have been very lazy about it lately. Obviously it's a work in progress.
