powerbook screen probleem

I'm having a really weird probleem with the screen of my PB 12" G4/867. After powering up the screen is normal for about 5 seconds after which it dims to almost black. I can barely see what's on the screen but that's it.

I've tried diskwarrior, disk utility and trashing various preferences, but to no avail.



Anyone here any idea?

    have you tried increasing your brightness?

    I have and i doesn't have any effect unfortunately.

    Your LCD backlight might be going bad. It sounds like your LCD is at least three years old, right?



    It might be time to get a newer LCD.

    It is indeed some three years old - thanks for the advice, will suggest your idea to my repair centre. Thanks a lot!
