Hey,

Have the brand new 1.67GHz PB with superdrive and 100GB HD, loaded with 512MB RAM. Planning on getting more RAM to get rid of beachball, what company does apple use for the RAM? I heard Samsung. I tried to open my RAM door myself but only one screw came out can anyone help?

    This is Crucial's recommendation:

    Crucial - PB g4 1.67GHz

Although, I think any DDR333 PC2700 should do the trick.

*Yes, Samsung is the official supplier.

I bought my 1GB upgrade from Other World Computing. They have the Samsung RAM, which is the same RAM Apple installs at the factory, though it will cost you a little extra

My local reseller is doing Kingston PC2700.. um Kingston might use Samsung models though...

Hmm they were trying to palm off PC2700 for me iBook even though i only need PC2100... it was original Kingston though at least, not some generic crap, and apple-specific Kingston modules..

oh a decent and reliable apple dealer in sydney (dude called inigo @ maccentre in bondi junction for the aussies) once was telling me you can't always just go by the brands, coz sometimes it depends on the manufacturing batches...
