(Old) Monitor Question

Posted:
in Current Mac Hardware edited January 2014
So my dad e-mailed me today to tell me he's getting a mini.

And Yes, I know it's probably getting updated sometime in the fairly near future, but he needs it now, and he could care less if he misses out on a small processor and HD bump so I'm not going to tell him to wait.

It's replacing his B&W Tower with corresponding B&W 17 inch CRT.

My question is, is that monitor VGA? I tried to look it up but was not successful in finding out (I guess my search skills need some work).

I think he's planning on getting an LCD eventually (It's a shame to have a mini attached to something about 10X it's size!) but he'd like to just attach it to his old monitor for now.

So will that work out? Anybody know?

Thanks in advance.

Blue - and - White. AKA "Yosemite". G3 towers that followed the beige G3.

Mac mini has a DVI as an output port, your B&W has a VGA connection. Mac mini comes with a DVI to VGA adaptor, so no worries mate.

is this the monitor and specs you be talking about?

Oh, I see. Yeah, at first I though it sounded like a color reference (I though Black&White) but it didn't sound right in the context, so I though though it must be some brand or something.

Thanks. That's a handy site. Especially now that I'm messing around with a iMac G3 600. I'm putting Tiger on it today. Wish me luck.
