I know that the AirPort base stations can bridge together, so, like even if the one you are connected to does not have internet access, but it can reach a base station which does, it can send the information over....

Can this be done from Computer to Computer,, Computer to Computer bridging... if so, Couldn't a big wireless network be made if one person is connected to another which is connected to another. I GIANT one could be made, for instance, at a picnic or something, right?

am i right on this or just ****ing crazy? <img src="graemlins/cancer.gif" border="0" alt="[cancer]" /> <img src="graemlins/cancer.gif" border="0" alt="[cancer]" /> <img src="graemlins/cancer.gif" border="0" alt="[cancer]" />

This is not possible yet, although scientists are working on it. (It's a hot field of research called ad-hoc networking.)

There was a Wired article about this a while back, which I think puts forward a lot of interesting ideas. WiFi has all the hallmarks of a classic disruptive technology (particularly for telecos working towards rolling out 3G networks)...
