I just bought this ibook off of ebay. I have two questions. It has 10.3 on it and I want to know how i can set it up to automatically connect to my wireless network in my house. We have a128 bit wep key in place. The only way I have been able to connect to the network is by clicking on the airport button in the menu bar and choosing other. Then i can change in the pull down menu from password to wep key. I can't figure out how to make this permanent so it connects on start up. IN the system settings, it does let me select wep key, only password.

My other question is where i can get a single replacement key, if that's possible. the 7 key is missing part of the tab on the top part. It is the key itself, and not the part that is part of the compputer. Thanks for any advice.

Choose under Network airport settings: By default, join (automatic) from the drop down menu. It will automatically connect to any networks it can, including yours.

The router is set not to broadcast it's ID so the computer doesn't see it when it's set to automatic. I want to be able to set it manually, to always connect to the same network with a wep key. Why isn't this made more easy in the interface? It works on XP. which pisses me off. my step-mom's dell does it fine. kinda annoying....

    please, help
