Is there good OCR for the mac?

It seems like versiontracker lists software which has been basically panned. My needs are not complicated but it is rather annoying to receive a scanned image and have to retype all the info.



It seems like with built in fax this would be a great way to have the fax get received, transcribed and put in my mailbox with the original image as an attachment.

    dont they make omni page pro for the mac? i think so. and it works pretty well. also, depending on your scanner, i know that epson has put OCR into their scan drives for the 1670. hope that helps.

    check out Vuescan



    It just recently added OCR support



    Otherwise, try Omnipage Pro *shiver*

    oh yeah, i forgot that vuescan had recently added OCR. i absolutely love vuescan, a must have for anyone using a scanner, especially for photo manipulation/printing. best scanner software available IMO.
