iTunes 4.8 is very near:

check that link: nice advice

The reason why iTMS Switzerland (also Scandinavian iTMS) is late could be that they wait with the launch for iTunes 4.8. Maybe because of the new DRM?

I bet the new iTunes uses Quicktime 7, and since Quicktime 7 isn't out for Windows yet iTunes is held back.

I haven't synced my iPod in Tiger yet, but any omissions/shortcomings relating to contacts and calendars could be related to this upcoming iTunes update.

iTunes 4.7.1 uses QT7. Just import something and check the info. Uses whatever you have installed.

Yes, but the next iTunes could require QT 7. Many QT downloads are those that are bundled with iTunes, and you know Apple will love getting a huge QT 7 install base just using iTunes as a delivery system.

I doubt iTunes 4.8 would require QT 7, but a 5.0 release could very well leverage QT 7 for some new functionality, including the tasty new H.264 codec.
