Can I install Tiger?

I have a 9.2 laptop (not OS X able) but DOES have a DVD drive. Any where to share that drive over to my 10.3 system to install?

Alternatively how about from a DVD drive in a Windows XP machine? Can any form of sharing make this magic happen?

Creative solutions welcome. I can't afford the money to exchange my copy. (don't ask)

You could just get a pop the dvd drive from the pc in the mac temporarily.

DVD Drive is some kind of 'mini' connection (on a Dell Optiplex GX280)

You can give this a try.

It says it supports some removable media.

I can't do the 'target disk' trick since my laptop doesn't have firewire.

I have another question.. does Tiger REQUIRE that you boot off the CDs to install it?

    Nope.

You can burn a Tiger disk image then mount it.

You need to do this from a different partition than the one you want to install to ie have to partitions or drives.

OK, hold on a second. You just installed Tiger on a laptop that doesn't have firewire? Heck, even my Pismo has firewire and that doesn't meet the min requirements. As far as I know, every computer since then had firewire built-in. (But I am a little rusty) What kind of laptop do you have?

This sounds suspicious, yet intriguing. Maybe I can get Tiger on my Pismo after all.

Sorry to confuse. The laptop had a DVD drive and I was trying to figure out how to use it's DVD drive to install on a different G4 system.
