I have PS 7. i find it very irritating that sometimes when you start up or shut down, it updates something, it freezes all the time, i have to do aforce quit, then usally restart the computer. i guess i usally happens when i click on a PS document.

so my question is, does PS CS or new new version that came out still do this asinine thing?

Go to Edit, Preferences, Adobe Online...

    Change the preference.

    No problem.

I find CS annoyingly sluggish. I upgraded and then after a couple of weeks, reverted back to 7.

Anybody know if CS2 is any better preformance-wise?

I installed the CS2 demo and it was nothing but a hassle. To me, CSx lost any "friendliness" that earlier versions had and it requires activation that ties a copy to one machine. (I'm a strong opposer of avtivation)
