Illustrator CS2 has it build in, as in the previous versions. But AI CS2 seems to have a much more powerfull tracer. Didn't try it myself, though. Experiences, anyone ?

What I want to do is take a photograph of an old wall that has lots of stones and have a sort of architectural composition of it. Like the ones that archaeologist's make of a site... drawn out, etc.
it came to mind because I was playing around with some filters (Crayon/Graphic Pen, etc) and it almost worked. Nontheless, I'd really like to make a good plan.

There's also an app called Silhouette that's dedicated to converting bitmaps to vector. Comes as an Illustrator plug-in or stand alone application:
