Buy now or wait??

Hi, im very intersted in getting a powermac g5. perferable the dual 2ghz, ill be using it for usual stuff plus major video editing and possibly audio stuff. but i can probably wait another year if i have to to wait for maybe some crazy dual core technology or other new innovations apple comes out with. seeing how they recently updated the powermac now might be a good choice. how far away is a dual core or maybe even the G6?

    If you want to wait a year yes, there will be new PowerMacs. If you want to wait 3 months; then possibly not. No one knows when the 970MP (dual core) will be released.



    The G6 doesn't exist, because the G5 is just Apple marketing speak for the 970 series of IBM PowerPC processors. The G6 will be whatever Apple decides is worthy (probably a Cell, or possibly a POWER5 lite).



    The simple answer: Buy now if you need it now. If you don't need it now, wait.
