I read an article from Macintouch.
Someone who owns the new Office X found out that under the licence agreement. Office X will deactivate 1 year after you activate it. In order to keep using it you will have to pay!
Geez.....glad I am not upgrading it.

I just read the EULA for Office X, and the only reference to any type of deactivation that will occur will be for individuals who subscribe to Office - usually users at educational venues (universities) and some large businesses. Buy Office X on the street and it will not expire. Ever. Period.
(and for those of us at a college, it will cost a whopping $10 or so for a new CD that will function perfectly, bringing a two year total cost to $20).
Sorry, but MS isn't that dumb.
I have the same deal on my campus. Free if you just want to install and $10 if you want to "own" the CD.

Really? Can I have the CD?
I will pay for that CD...serious
