G5 sp won't shut down

As of the first of the year I have a G5 single processor that refuses to shut down after being on for more than one hour. Anyone else have/had this problem. And how do/did you correct it. Apple service is of no help at all.



Posted on other BBS, including Apple's, and it seems that I am not alone, and no one has a fix.

Any and all suggestions appreciated.

    I had the exact same problem right after I upgraded to Tiger. After some hair-pulling, I solved the problem by throwing out all the stuff in my startup items folder. Dunno why that worked, but it did. You might be having the same problem if you've recently upgraded to Tiger.

    Thanks for the suggestion, but I am still running 10.3.8. Had hope of straightening this out before going to Tiger. Didn't want another thing to worry about. But, I might try it just the same.
