Quicktime Causing System Freeze
I've had a few complete system freezes (forcing a reboot) since installing Quicktime 7.0.1
It appears to happen when viewing movies in Safari. I start playing the movie and shortly after the whole system froze.
I checked the Console but I don't see anything Quicktime-related.
The last 2 entries are as follows (I assume the last entry was after the forced reboot since the time is a few minutes later than the previous entry):
Jun 4 09:43:54 ScreamG5 mDNSResponder: Attempt to register record with invalid rdata: 262 YM43933AQYT._ttp4daemon._tcp.488313864452477. SRV <<INVALID LABEL LENGTH
Jun 4 09:47:14 ScreamG5 KernelEventAgent[38]: tid 00000000 received unknown event (12)
G5 1.8, 1.25GB RAM, Mac OS 10.4.1

I installed Quicktime 7.0.1, and Final Cut Pro is now stuttering on playback.....giving me a General error #39. I wish Apple didn't feel the compulsion to "upgrade" QT every few days. Every time they do this, it seems to screw with some other apps.

this may not be the same issue, but i read somewhere that if you can try removing the quicktime webplugin found in your user library folder. i did this but just moved the file rather than deleting it and things work fine.
