No sound in QT, WMP, Safari...

All of a sudden I am getting no sound at all in the QuickTime and WMP apps, nor their respective plugins in Safari, as well as the Flash plugin. This is pretty frustrating as I have no real idea what could have caused it, and I have no real idea how to fix it, I've tried resetting everything. I am running the latest version of everything.

The only plausible thing I can think of is that I downloaded and ran an extremely alpha version of the next-generation browser from Mozilla code-named DeerPark (or whatever), and perhaps it screwed up something low-level concerning sound and plug-ins. But this is pure speculation.

Anybody got any idea?

    System Prefs -> Sound

    Check the "Output" tab, see if everything's set correctly.

    Yeah, that's not the problem, I have working sound. Just not in specific cases, which causes me to suspect a conflict of some sort.
