So, OSX on Intel is something that has been going on forever. Fine.

Consumers want to use their TVs as a digital hub (HD finally allows good quality on TV), not necessarily a laptop or home computer. Fine.

In the meantime, iPod and Digital Hub idea is really picking up and Apple is making a killing on these (at least iPod for now). Fine.

Viruses and Spyware are just getting worse and worse on Windows. Yeay.

Back in the 80s and 90s, Billy G really screwed Jobs and Apple.

Jobs knows that clones won't work to et Mac market share back.

Here starts speculation:

So, Jobs really uses iPod as a Trojan Horse. Uses lifetime of industrial design and ease of use to make a real "Digital Hub" offering to consumers. iPod was just tip of the iceberg. Apple starts becoming major player. Becomes on par with strength of Sony in the consumer electronic goods section although offering a fraction of the stuff Sony does. Apple Lifestyle grabs a hold.

By mid 2007 Apple makes much more money on consumer goods than computers.

2008 Apple drops the bomb. HP, Dell, Sony, Toshiba, IBM/Lenovo, etc will start to sell MacOS X PCs, licensed from Apple. Possible built-in emulator available (doubtful) for people who lots of windows apps.

HPs iPod licensing was just a dry-run and now comes the full swing.

Apple continues to sell computers but its a minor part of their revenue. Concentrating on high-end workstations and servers, the creative and scientific communities continue to use and covet Apple hardware and experience.

2009 Just a year later, 15% of all PCs sold by aforementioned companies have MacOS X pre-installed.

2010 Global market share for MacOS X hits above 10% and the ride upwards just keeps on going.

2011 Steve Jobs retires knowing that his roadmap is in full steam and the Bill Gates will get the short end of the stick in the long run. Jobs will have won in the end. MacOS X marketshare at 15% globally and accounting for 40% of all OSs sold in '10.

2020 Hardcore Mac users have converted to Windows zealots (which is now at a 4% global market share) because it is now in the definitive under-dog position and Bill Gates is living in a Favelas in Rio de Janeiro as a hermit.
