quicktime crashes netscape navigator

i have been using netscape navigator 4.75 for quite some time with no problems. i recently downloaded quicktime 5.0. every time i attempted to launch navigator it crashed. after i uninstalled quicktime 5.0 navigator loaded just fine. i tried the process again with the same results. anyone have any ideas?
