Animated Text with Livetype or Motion

In one of the commercials running on VH1 the number 1 is made up of flashing light bulbs (like a las vegas sign). Is there any to make text like this with Livetype or Motion (for use in the titling of a Final Cut Pro project)?



Also, I did diamond text in photoshop and I haven't been able to import it into Livetype. Any advice?
